Iowa Permit to Carry

(IPTC)

Iowa Permit to Carry course (IPTC)

IPTC is a 6-8 hour course with lecture and range time.  The lecture portion covers most aspects of concealed carry in Iowa.  Discussions include holster, firearm and ammunition selection, also aspects of concealing your gun of choice and techniques for drawing and shooting effectively in real life defensive situations. There is also an in depth study of laws regarding self-defense enabling students to clearly understand the enormous responsibility involved in carrying a firearm.  This course is not a "learn to shoot" course.  The student should already be competent with their firearm.  Cost, $50.

This class is held in two locations to minimize student travel (see below).  You may take the class at either site location but you must indicate which one you plan to attend when you register online.

Permit to Carry Application form

Process for Iowa permit starts with an application at your local sheriff's office, FIERCE Training offers two seperate classes, Jones Co. class is a one day format, Johnson Co. class is a lecture then range on seperate day.  Same course otherwise.

Most counties use and provide the student with the "white" triplicate training form (WP0).  You must bring this form to the class.  There are a couple counties that do not supply this form, relax, Fierce Training will.
