Utah/Florida Permit to Carry

UFPTC is a 6-8 hour course with lecture and range time.  The lecture portion covers all aspects of concealed carry for the State of Utah.  The course presents an overview of how to carry concealed, tools and equipment used to adequately protect loved ones and yourself.  There is also an in depth study of laws regarding self-defense enabling students to clearly understand the enormous responsibility involved in carrying a firearm.  This course is not a "learn to shoot" course.  The student should already be competent with their firearm.  Cost $80.

Recent change to Utah application and permit.  As of May 10, 2011

YOU MUST AS A IOWA RESIDENT HAVE AND SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR IOWA PERMIT TO CARRY.  Application change as well, make sure your application has a May 2011 revision date.

As of 4/18/11 according to Handgunlaw.us the Utah permit covers these states: AK, AL, AR, AZ, DE, GA, ID, IN, KY, LA, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC ND, NE, OH, OK, PA, SD, TN, TX, VA, VT, WA, WV, WY.

This course also fulfills the training requirements for the State of Florida by offering a live fire range portion.  Those interested in the Florida permit will need to email a request after completion of the course for a certificate to use as proof of training in your Florida application.  The email will need to include your mailing address and date of class attended.  Email Info@fiercetraining.org

The only part you must complete before the class is name and address. 

Ear and eye protection, handgun suitable for concealed carry (don't care what caliber but you should bring something you would consider carrying), 50 rounds of ammunition minimum.  Leave handgun in vehicle during class.  Range time will consist of 10 rounds at 10 yards with a FBI Q target, 8-10 required to pass or 30 round course at FBI Q target @ 5,7 and 10 yards (80% to pass).  Other shooting exercises may be available in addition to qualification, depending on time and weather.

Looking for a class?

This class can also be held at a site of your choosing.  If you have 12 or more participants and a suitable facility to have the lecture we can do a class near you.  Locations outside a 75 mile radius of Iowa City may have some additional mileage charges, email for quote.

Note a range is not absolutely necessary for a Utah only class.  We can offer an alternative exercise instead of live fire on the range but the course won't fulfill Florida Statutes.
